The worst time to realise that a defibrillator is not ready, is during the code! Simplicity is the key to quick response for your patients. Precious seconds can slip by while fiddling with tangled cables, complicated menus, expired or perished electrodes. The ZOLL R Series™ has a unique cable management system that keeps cables out of the way and when combined with ZOLL's OneStep™ Electrode, can provide pacing, cardioversion and defibrillation from one electrode.

When electrical therapy is delivered the heart needs to be primed for the shock. Effective CPR is crucial to ensuring that enough blood reaches the heart muscle itself, so that defibrillation can be effective.

Research has shown that over 50% of the time in a code, CPR is not delivered, when it should be. Compressions are usually too shallow, too slow and have been reported as "variable at best". CPR's importance had been somewhat overlooked in resuscitation attempts. Recent research1,2 and changes to the CPR guidelines, have sought to address this.

The R Series features Real CPR Help®, to guide the rescuer through delivering compressions at the appropriate rate and depth. Audible and visual prompts advise the rescuer that they need to push harder or faster. The R Series also features See-Thru CPR™, allowing advanced life support providers the ability to see the patient's underlying intrinsic rhythm without stopping CPR. This minimises crucial hands off time and improves coronary perfusion pressure and patient outcomes. Comprehensive battery management is also a feature of the R Series. The SurePower™ Battery allows for optimal management of your battery inventory, preventing premature disposal, restoring confidence that if a battery is in service that it is fully functional.

The R Series features a number of daily self checks, to ensure that when you need it, the R Series is ready. The unit displays a green tick to indicate that the unit has passed these checks. The R Series also has a training module built in so staff can maintain familiarity and can ensure that if the need arises, they are ready to use it.
